How to Read a Label
A few things most people don't know about ingredient lists.
Order = Concentration
Ingredients are listed by concentration — the first ingredient makes up the most of the product. If petroleum is listed first, that's mostly what you're putting on your lips.
Unpronounceable ≠ Dangerous
If you can't pronounce it, that doesn't automatically make it dangerous — but it's worth looking up. That's what this tool is for.
Watch for "Fragrance"
"Fragrance" or "parfum" on a label can hide dozens of undisclosed chemicals. Companies aren't required to list what's in their fragrance blends.
Shorter is Better
The shorter the ingredient list, the less room for hidden problems. Numbrrrz has 4 ingredients. Some lip balms have 20+.
